Are you passionate about sustainability and interested in making a difference in the Rochester community? EarthFest Rochester is seeking new members to join our Board of Directors!
Founded in 2015, EarthFest Rochester is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a more environmentally sustainable community through awareness, education, resources, and action.
As EarthFest looks toward the future, we are seeking community members with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, skills, and perspectives to help guide the organization into its next chapter.
What Does the EarthFest Board Do?
EarthFest Board members provide governance, leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the organization. Board members work collaboratively to support EarthFest’s mission, strengthen community partnerships, ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability, and help shape its future priorities.
We welcome individuals with a variety of skills and interests, including sustainability and environmental stewardship, community engagement, education and outreach, fundraising, marketing and communications, finance, nonprofit leadership, event planning, and more.
Previous Board or nonprofit experience is not required. We are looking for people who care about EarthFest’s mission and are excited to contribute their time, ideas, and perspectives.
What Is the Time Commitment?
Board members serve a two-year term with an estimated commitment of approximately 2–5 hours per month. This includes participating in Board meetings, serving on committees or supporting special projects, reviewing materials in advance of meetings, and attending EarthFest and other key organizational events whenever possible.
